Information we collect
When you list boxes, we collect the quantity, general area or ZIP code, selected example image, and your private email address. When you contact a giver, we collect your first name, email address or phone number, and any message you choose to send.
How we use it
We use this information to publish and manage listings, deliver private contact requests, send listing confirmations and availability reminders, prevent misuse, operate GiveBoxes, and improve the service.
What other users see
A listing shows the box quantity, general area, example image, and posting time. A giver’s email address is never displayed publicly. When a getter sends a request, the giver receives the getter’s submitted contact information and message.
Service providers
We use service providers for website hosting, data storage, email delivery, security, and advertising measurement. These currently include OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure, Resend for email delivery, and Google Ads.
Cookies and advertising measurement
Google’s tag may receive information such as the page visited, browser or device information, IP address, and cookies or similar identifiers to measure advertising performance. You can manage cookies in your browser and advertising choices through Google’s settings.
Retention and security
Listings expire from public search, but we may retain listing and request records as reasonably necessary to operate the service, prevent abuse, resolve problems, and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may use your private listing link to remove or restore a listing. To ask about your personal information or request deletion, email w.gibson@giveboxes.com.
Children
GiveBoxes is not directed to children under 13. Minors should use the service only with a parent or guardian.
