A few simple precautions can make a box pickup easier and safer.
Protect your location
Keep your exact address private until you are comfortable with the other person. Consider meeting in daylight or at a public location when practical.
Tell someone
Let someone know where you are going, bring another person when possible, and avoid entering a stranger’s home or vehicle.
Check the boxes
Look at the boxes before taking them. Do not accept boxes that appear wet, contaminated, unsafe, or affected by pests.
Trust your judgment
You can stop communicating or leave at any time. For an immediate danger or emergency, contact local emergency services.
